„God. 1684. spominje se kapetan u osmanskoj vojsci i serdar Zažablja Nikola […] Sljedećih je godina sa sinovima Vuletom (Vulom) i Jurom sudjelovao u okršajima protiv Osmanlija po cijeloj Dalmaciji (Knin, Vrgorac, Herceg Novi).”
English translation
“In 1684 Nikola is mentioned as a captain in the Ottoman army and Serdar of Zažablje […] In the following years he and his sons Vuleta (Vule) and Jure took part in clashes against the Ottomans throughout Dalmatia (Knin, Vrgorac, Herceg Novi).”Croatian original
„Nikola se istaknuo u osvajanju i obrani Kuline nad Klekom, koju su Nonkovići zatim pretvorili u vlastito uporište i sjedište. God. 1691. odlukom mletačkog Senata dobio je naslov viteza sv. Marka, a 1694. zajedno sa sinovima sudjelovao je u osvajanju Čitluka.”
English translation
“Nikola distinguished himself in the capture and defence of Kulina above Klek, which the Nonković family then made their stronghold and seat. In 1691 the Venetian Senate awarded him the title of Knight of St Mark, and in 1694 he and his sons took part in the capture of Čitluk.”Croatian original

„Nikolin je sin Franjo u doba francuske uprave zapovijedao Kulom Norinskom (1810–14), ali je, pošto se odbio predati austrijskim vlastima, izgubio položaj. Nakon rehabilitacije služio je do 1844. kao serdar Poneretavlja.”

“Nikola’s son Franjo commanded Kula Norinska during the French administration (1810–14), but lost his position after refusing to surrender to the Austrian authorities. Following rehabilitation, he served as Serdar of the Lower Neretva until 1844.”Editorial and translation note
