Where the records may be located

• The official finding aid Cavalieri di San Marco (1456–1792), compiled by Teodoro Toderini in 1867, is an alphabetical manuscript index produced from several archival fonds.
• It points to the Cancelleria inferiore and Archivio del Doge, as well as Senato: Privilegi, Terra, Mar, Rettori and Corti; Provveditori sopra feudi; and Collegio: Lettere and Notatorio.
• Files 174 and 175 of the Cancelleria inferiore cover 1551–1678 and therefore cannot themselves contain the patents of 1692/93 and 1696. The other series represented in the index must be checked for the Noncovich entries.

Noncovich, Nonkovich, Nonković; Serdar of the Neretva; patent dated 20 January 1692 more Veneto, which Tomić converts to 1693.

Vule / Vukoslav Noncovic

Noncovich, Nonkovich, Nonković; Nikola’s son; patent dated 27 June 1696.

Procedure

1. Open the official remote-research instructions and download the Richiesta informazione scientifica form.
2. Complete every required field. Define the subject as a request for the complete shelfmarks of Nikola and Vule Noncovich’s patents.
3. Include the known dates, name variants, the places Neretva/Narenta, Opuzen/Fort Opus, Klek and Broćanac, and the official Cavalieri di San Marco (1456–1792) finding aid.
4. Save the completed form as a PDF and attach a front-and-back copy of valid identification, as required by the archive’s official instructions.
5. Send the form and attachments to the archive’s official address. Do not send identity documents to anyone outside the cultura.gov.it domain.
6. Ask for the complete shelfmark: fonds, series, busta/filza or register number, folio (carta), and document date.
